happy new year!

time to start thinking about the garden again !
i’m looking through the catalogs and getting my ideas together for peacetree 2012. if anyone has suggestions or requests please contact me soon so i can add them to my orders! before you know it, we’ll be back at the market and you’ll be planting delicious dinners for this summer and fall.
the new hoophouse we put up last year is doing beautifully! we’ve been eating salads right along since the fall. it’s a wonderful addition to your garden if you have a little extra space.

elliot coleman’s book “four-season harvest” was a big help with setting up the growing space and suggestions of winter-hardy varieties of greens. i hear his new book “the winter harvest handbook” is excellent also as a guide for setting up, planting and harvesting winter vegetables in unheated or minimally heated spaces here in the cold northeast.

it’s a beautiful, sunny day – time to get out to the greenhouse! stay tuned….
